Luang Prabang is located in north central Laos. The city is located at the confluence of the Nam Khan and Mekong Rivers. Luang Prabang was formerly the royal capital and seat of government of the Kingdom of Laos. Luang Prabang has both natural and historical sites. Beautiful waterfalls, magnificent temples, morning monk processions through the streets and a nightly open air market on main street are draws for people all over the world.
Dori’s first visit to Luang Prabang over fifteen years ago was a life changing event and where the idea of Give Children A Choice was born. His visits to the remote villages outside Luang Prabang left him wanting to do more for the children, especially for children’s education. Our first school was built in Luang Prabang Province in 2003 and we haven’t stopped providing the children educational opportunities since.
