It was time for Kayeng’s medical checkup at Bumrungrad. Kayeng cannot fly, so Give Children A Choice drove from Vientiane to Bangkok. It was a good trip.
On July 30, TC traveled from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. Kayeng and Vakoung traveled from Xieng Khouang to Vientiane. Their bus rides were 12-14 hours (normally just 7-8 hours. They both encountered landslides caused by heavy rains. Once we picked them up, we drove a harrowing 80-90 mph to get the Friendship Bridge before it closed at 10 pm. Whew. We arrived at 9:50 in time to go through custom checks in Lao and Thailand.
After a 1 am arrival in Khon Kaen, we checked into our hotel. Early the next morning we picked up Mr. Winit at the Christian School for the Blind – Thailand (CFBT) Khon Kaen campus. We drove to Nahkon Ratchasima (aka Korat) to visit the CFBT Benyalai campus for the blind. Here, we met with the school director and the director of the CFBT online media center.
It’s been three months, since we’ve seen Kayeng. He’s socializing more with the people around him. He’s more docile. He nops to show his appreciation.
